DatChat shares were 37% higher, at $3.51 a share, after the company said the Mexican Patent office issued a Notice of Allowance for its patent application titled, "Systems and Methods of Transforming Electronic Content."
The social media company said that, following receipt of the notice, it filed the final issue paperwork, paid the issue fees, and expects formal issuance of the patent in the next 90 days.
DatChat said the Mexican patent expands coverage for its proprietary systems to 15 in total.
The stock hit its 52-week high of $9.34 on Jan. 7, and is up 145% in the past 12 months.
