Septerna (SEPN) shares sank 59% amid heavy trading after the company said Tuesday it discontinued a phase 1 clinical trial of SEP-786 to treat hypoparathyroidism in healthy volunteers.

Intraday trading volume soared to nearly 6.27 million shares from a daily average of about 313,000.

Greenlane Holdings (GNLN) said Tuesday it struck deals to sell about $25.0 million of shares and investor warrants at $1.19 per unit to institutional investors.

Shares sank 37%, with intraday trading volume catapulting to over 2.92 million versus a daily average of about 122,000.

Medtronic (MDT) reported fiscal Q3 revenue below analyst projections as some distributors cut surgical inventory levels, weighing on the division's performance.

Shares slid 6.5% as intraday trading volume rose to over 8.32 million from the stock's daily average of about 6.7 million.
