** French automaker Renault RENA.PA and China's Zhejiang Geely Holding GEELY.UL said in a joint statement on Monday that they have reached an agreement to produce and sell zero- and low-emission vehicles in Brazil
** Geely Automobile, in which Zhejiang Geely holds an indirect 39% stake, said on Tuesday that it was not a party to the agreement and is neither partnering with nor providing any financing to Zhejiang Geely
** "Given the potential synergy from the collaboration with Renault and the significant potential of the Latin American market, the group is actively exploring different options to be involved in the proposed transaction," Geely Automobile said
** Hang Seng Commerce & Industry Index .HSNC rises 1.5% and Hang Seng Tech Index .HSTECH climbs 1.4%
** Geely Automobile shares rose 72.7% last year
