Alibaba Group (HKG:9988) Chair Joe Tsai said open-source artificial intelligence initiatives like DeepSeek were valuable and credited them for making advanced AI more accessible and affordable, YiCai Global reported Feb. 14.
Tsai criticized closed-source AI systems, saying their value is diminishing, according to the report.
The executive also confirmed Alibaba's partnership with Apple to develop AI features for iPhones in China, YiCai Global wrote.
