Italian automaker Ferrari's CEO Benedetto Vigna met with SK On chief Lee Seok-hee in Seoul to discuss battery cooperation ahead of Ferrari's first electric vehicle launch in October, Yonhap News reported Friday.

EV battery manufacturer SK On is a subsidiary of SK Innovation (KRX:096770).

The two companies, partners since 2019, have previously collaborated on plug-in hybrid electric vehicle models such as the SF90 Stradale. The visit follows last year's memorandum of understanding on battery innovation, the report said.

Shares of SK Innovation rose more than 5% at market close on Monday.
