--Former Tesla board member Hiromichi Mizuno is leading the new proposal, which is supported by former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, the FT report said.
--Several board members at Nissan are aware of the initiative, the FT reported.
--Mizuno, Suga and Tesla didn't immediately respond to requests for comment, the FT said. Nissan declined to comment, the report said.
