智通财经APP获悉，2月24日，TechInsights发文称，索尼迎来了其最强劲的假日销售季，PlayStation 5在2024年第四季度的出货量达到自2020年发售以来的最高水平，共计950万台，仅比2016年第四季度PlayStation 4在推出PlayStation 4 Pro时的峰值销量少20万台。
在2023年销量突破4500万台后，2024年的游戏主机出货量呈现下滑趋势，这主要是由于任天堂的出货量下降所致。任天堂的热门游戏主机Switch已问世8年，目前计划在未来几个月内推出备受期待的升级版Switch 2。微软(MSFT.US)Xbox系列和索尼(SONY.US)PlayStation 5的出货量也同比出现下滑。然而，在2024年第四季度，得益于PlayStation 5 Pro的推出，PlayStation 5实现了自2020年发售以来的最高季度出货量。
作为索尼推出的最昂贵的游戏主机，PlayStation 5 Pro显然面向的是追求卓越性能的游戏主机爱好者。尽管中代升级可能不如新一代游戏主机发布时那样激动人心，但它们仍能为游戏爱好者带来价值，并在出货量进入下滑阶段时起到提振作用。
