据美国媒体报道，欧洲飞机制造商空中客车公司首席执行官（CEO）纪尧姆福里20日在空客年度业绩公布后的新闻发布会上表示，中国商飞可能成为空客强有力的竞争对手，打破空客与波音在飞机制造业的“双头垄断”，从而使该行业“从双头垄断过渡到潜在的三足鼎立”局面。
中国商飞是一家国有大型央企，为我国国产大飞机制造商。官网介绍资料显示，中国商飞既是实施国家大型飞机重大专项中大型客机项目的主体，也是统筹干线飞机和支线飞机发展、实现我国民用飞机产业化的主要载体。中国市场占全球飞机需求市场的五分之一，这也将提供空间和机会，帮助中国商飞在技术成熟时将产品出口到其他国家。
目前，中国商飞客机产品线覆盖C909支线客机、C919窄体客机、C929宽体客机全系列。其中，C909支线客机自2016年6月28号正式投入航线运营，已成为中国支线航空市场的主力机型；C919客机目前进入规模化运营阶段，共向三大航交付16架并全部投入商业载客。2025年C919飞机的产能预计将达到50架，其中预计下线量达到30架；C929宽体机正处于初步设计和供应商选择阶段，即将进入详细设计阶段。
