Rivian Automotive (RIVN) is recalling certain 2025 R1S and R1T vehicles due to a defect that may cause the low beam headlights to fail to illuminate when starting the vehicle in cold weather, according to a notification by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In a Recall Acknowledgment Thursday, the NHTSA said that 2,905 units were affected, while its website suggests the potential number of affected vehicles is 17,260.

NHTSA said Rivian will replace the headlight control modules free of charge.
