Bowman Consulting Group (BWMN) said Monday that it has been awarded a one-year contract by North Carolina's Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (CGIA) to produce detailed digital orthoimagery for five counties in the Eastern Piedmont region.
Financial details of the contract were not provided.
The project will cover 3,650 square miles and generate 4,070 image tiles through aerial data collection, ground control surveys, and advanced processing methods, Bowman said.
The company said the imagery will be used to support emergency response, transportation planning, disaster recovery, and other government operations, with public access provided via the NC OneMap platform.
The company said this project is part of North Carolina's four-year cycle for updating statewide imagery.
