Berkshire Hathaway $(BRK.B)$: Warren Buffett's conglomerate reported that operating earnings, which exclude some investment results, rose to $47.4 billion in 2024. Shares rose 1.4% in premarket trading.
Rheinmetall (XE:RHM); BAE Systems (UK:BA); Thales (FR.HO); Airbus (FR:AIR); European stocks with exposure to the defense sector rose amid talk that a new government in Germany could support increased arms spending in the region.
Alibaba $(BABA)$: The Chinese tech company said it plans to invest more than $52 billion in AI and cloud infrastructure over the next three years. Shares fell 2% in Hong Kong.
Domino's Pizza $(DPZ)$; Diamondback Energy $(FANG.UK)$; Owens Corning $(OC)$: All are due to post earnings Monday.
Just Eat Takeaway.com (NL:TKWY); Prosus (NL:PRX): Shares of Just Eat soared more than 50% in Amsterdam after technology investor Prosus agreed to buy it for $4.3 billion. Prosus shares fell.
Sugentech (KR.253840); Cellid (KR:299660): Shares of Asian vaccine and diagnostic-kit makers rallied after a report last week that a new coronavirus had been found in bats. U.S. vaccine makers, including Moderna $(MRNA)$, had risen Friday on the report.
Subsea7: (NO:SUBC): Italian energy-services provider Saipem (IT:SPM) will merge with Norwegian rival Subsea7, in a deal valued at around $4.9 billion. Subsea7 stock rallied 7% in Norway.
