The two less expensive variants feature BYD's God's Eye C system, without any LiDAR, and deliveries will begin in mid-March.

The two higher-priced ones use Huawei's solution, both with one 192-channel LiDAR on the roof, with deliveries set to begin in April.

BYD unveiled its vehicle intelligence strategy on February 10 and brought the Smart Driving Edition updates to 21 models under the BYD brand.

The company unveiled at the time the God's Eye smart driving system, which includes God's Eye A, God's Eye B, and God's Eye C. The God's Eye C is mainly used in BYD's affordable models.

Qiankun ADS 3.0 is Huawei's new smart driving system released in April 2024, which enables high-level smart driving functions including urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot).

On November 12, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao launched the Bao 8 SUV, its second model and the first under the BYD umbrella to feature Huawei's driver assistance system.

The Bao 5's Smart Driving Edition update makes it the second under the BYD Group to use Huawei's smart driveing System.

The new Bao 5 variants are identical to the regular versions in terms of core specifications, with length, width and height of 4,890 mm, 1,970 mm and 1,920 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

The five-seat hybrid SUV has dual electric motors with a total power of 505 kW and a total torque of 760 Nm, allowing the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

BYD launched the Fang Cheng Bao brand on August 16, 2023 and gave the brand's first model, the Bao 5, its official debut.

The model was launched on November 9, 2023, when it was equipped with the FiPilot smart driving system exclusive for Fang Cheng Bao.

Fang Cheng Bao delivered 56,388 vehicles in 2024, with the Bao 5 contributing 48,913 units, or 86.74 percent, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
