2153 ET - U.S.-listed Chinese tech stocks face rising risks from President Trump's America First Investment Policy, Jefferies analysts say in a research note. While Trump's actions against China so far have been less confrontational than expected, DeepSeek's emergence could prompt Trump's team to be vigilant about setting back China's tech ambitions, they say. Some potential policies include banning Chinese tech companies from listing in the U.S. and forced delisting of companies that use the 'variable interest entities' structure, such as Alibaba, JD.com and PDD, the analysts say. Jefferies also doesn't rule out the possibility that Trump may use the America First Investment Policy as a bargaining chip against China in the current trade negotiations. (sherry.qin@wsj.com)
