1257 ET - Celsius' $1.8 billion buy of Alani Nu should complement the company, William Blair analysts say in a research note, citing the rapidly growing energy drink brand's appeal to female consumers, as well as its relevance with Gen Z and Millennial consumers. The deal, which is expected to be accretive to per-share earnings within a year, will also alleviate competition risks, they add. The acquisition comes as Celsius says it is confident in its prospects for 2025, despite not providing earnings guidance. The company is launching new flavors, expanding into new categories and seeking to increase its distribution, which the analysts say should add to its already attractive position. Celsius surges 26% following a 4Q earnings beat. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
