Alibaba (HKG:9988) rolled out its QwQ-Max artificial intelligence reasoning model, the South China Morning Post reported Tuesday.

The new model is seen to rival OpenAI's 01 and DeepSeek's R1 models, and features more versatile reasoning and problem-solving skills, according to the SCMP.

QwQ-Masx is available on the Qwen chatbot site, according to the report.

Alibaba's latest model is part of the e-commerce giant's mega AI infrastructure plan, the report said.

Shares rose 6% during Wednesday's afternoon trading.
