Update: Southwest Plane Reportedly Nearly Crashes into Unauthorized Private Jet at Chicago Airport

A Southwest Airlines (LUV) plane nearly crashed into a business jet that wasn't authorized to be on the runway on Tuesday morning at Chicago's Midway Airport, according to media reports, citing the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA confirmed the report in a response to MT Newswires. "The FAA is investigating the incident, which occurred around 8:50 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Feb. 25," the regulator said.

Southwest did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
