理想汽车（02015）CEO兼创始人李想于2月25日下午在社交平台称，“按之前的计划，理想i8会在2月27日正式官宣亮相。”而知晓同小米Ultra发布会撞期后，理想汽车选择把理想i8的亮相提前。

　　在和友商小米汽车的友好沟通后，李想表示，“为感谢雷总在过往对我们的帮助，同时也避免外界的误会，经和小米沟通后，我们选择为（小米）发布会让步。”

　　稍后雷军转发并祝福理想i8大卖，回复李想称，“小米和理想一起推动纯电车在国内的发展。”

　　2月25日，理想汽车通过官微发布了旗下首款纯电SUV理想i8。不同于此前车型，该车采用了全新的外观设计，还将配备激光雷达，并采用贯穿式尾灯，李想解释i的意思是“intelligence”——智能化。

　　与理想汽车的旗舰品牌MEGA的高端MPV（多用途）定位相比，i8填补了理想在主流纯电SUV市场的空白。据市场传言，理想i8售价预计在30万以上。

　　理想汽车此前以增程式新能源车为主，即结合纯电驱动与燃油发电的混合动力车型，比如理想汽车的L系列增程式SUV。

　　在2025年1月，理想汽车让位造车新势力的“销冠”给小鹏汽车（09868）。理想汽车实现交付量29927辆车，较小鹏汽车的30350辆交付量“失之毫厘”，但此次新款纯电SUV的亮相受到资金热捧，理想汽车盘中一度上涨15.91%，股价摸高至123.3港元。

　　截至2月25日收盘，理想汽车报118.1港元/股，涨幅11.21%。
