Wang & Lee Group (WLGS) said Tuesday it will support the City University of Hong Kong, through the university's collaboration with Cystar Limited, for the research and development of a large lithium-ion battery pack designed specifically for electric bicycles.
The collaboration aims to develop a pouch-type lithium-ion battery, offering a lighter and better-performing alternative to traditional cylindrical cells.
The battery pack, targeted to have a power output of 500 watts, will also have multiple applications across the automotive and robotics industries, Wang & Lee said.
