Zara parent Inditex said it plans to build a new complex in the metropolitan area of Barcelona to house the headquarters of some of its brands as it seeks to improve its logistic network.

The Spanish fashion group on Tuesday said the new facility in Sant Adria de Besos will bring together product design and development, commercial management and e-commerce, among others, for its brands Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Oysho and Lefties. The complex will have a capacity for around 1,500 workers.

These activities are currently conducted in Tordera, which will receive further investment to expand and focus solely on logistics capacity, Inditex said.

However, the development schedule has yet to be determined along with local authorities.

The new center will be located near the iconic three chimneys, known as the Tres Xemeneies, which were recently used as a set for the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

Shares are up 0.8% at 52.24 euros.
