智通财经APP获悉，新日铁总裁今井正2月25日表示，公司将与美国商务部展开协商，旨在重启收购美国钢铁公司(X.US)的计划。
此前，日本首相石破茂于本月17日称，特朗普上台后新日铁大大转变了对美国钢铁的思路，“现在对交易意向的考虑是投资而不是收购……我们需要采取必要的应对措施，确保对双方都有利”。
今井正在东京表示： “我们与美国政府讨论的起点将是这份合并协议。”“接下来，我们将与美国政府讨论如何让特朗普总统批准该协议。”
特朗普本月早些时候表示，他不介意一家日本公司收购美国钢铁公司的少数股权，此前他曾表示，关税将拯救美国钢铁，而该公司不需要与新日铁达成交易。
新日铁公司一直在努力争取批准其收购美国钢铁公司的计划，尽管面临监管和政治障碍。前总统乔·拜登在 1 月离任前以国家安全问题为由阻止了这笔交易。
据日本媒体称，日本经济产业大臣武藤洋二预计将于 3 月访问美国，并可能讨论该协议。
