BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has shared more images of its all-electric sedan, the Qin L EV, as its launch nears.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker shared six new images of the Qin L EV on Weibo today, showing details of the mid-sized sedan's exterior from different angles.
BYD said the model is a mid-size car for young people in the era of smart driving for all.
Lu Tian, general manager of sales for BYD's Dynasty series, also shared the images on Weibo today and emphasized that the model will be a car buying option for the younger demographic.
The Qin L EV's front design is similar to BYD's flagship electric sedan, the Han EV, and the rear logo hints that it will be equipped with BYD's God's Eye C smart driving system, which was launched earlier this month.
BYD unveiled its vehicle intelligence strategy on February 10, announcing that all of its models will offer smart driving editions.
The company has dubbed its Smart Driving system as God's Eye, which is split into God's Eye A for ultra-luxury vehicles, God's Eye B for premium vehicles, and God's Eye C for affordable models.
BYD unveiled its DM 5.0 hybrid technology on May 28, 2024, which brought lower fuel consumption, and rolled out the Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i as the first two models equipped with this hybrid technology at that time.
Yesterday, BYD shared three posters to start warming up the pure electric Qin L EV.
The Qin L EV has a length, width and height of 4,720 mm, 1,880 mm and 1,495 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, as shown in a previous regulatory filing.
For comparison, the Qin L DM-i has a length, width and height of 4,830 mm, 1,900 mm and 1,495 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,790 mm.
The Qin L EV is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 110 kW and a top speed of 160 km/h, according to its filing.
The Qin family is one of BYD's most popular, selling 732,252 units in 2024 and contributing 17.14 percent of BYD's NEV sales, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In addition to the Qin L DM-i, the Qin family of models includes the Qin Plus DM-i, and the Qin Plus EV.
