TEMPO.CO, Magelang - Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin revealed that the state incurred losses of Rp193.7 trillion due to alleged corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery product at PT Pertamina, subholding, and Contractor Cooperation Contract or KKSM within a one-year period.

"Rp190 trillion in one year to be exact," said Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin after delivering a presentation at a regional heads retreat at the Magelang Military Academy on Tuesday night, February 25, 2025.

Meanwhile, the alleged corruption practices were suspected to have taken place over five years. "Starting from 2018 to 2023," he said.

So far, seven individuals have been named as suspects in the alleged corruption. Sanitiar did not rule out the possibility of adding more suspects.

According to him, as a result of the corruption, the country suffered losses due to the surge in oil prices. "They sought illicit profits there, causing oil prices to soar," he said.

Attorney General's Office has named suspects including Riva Siahaan as the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga; Sani Dinar Saifuddin as the Director of Feedstock and Product Optimization at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional; Yoki Firnandi as the President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping; and Agus Purwono as the VP of Feedstock Management at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional.

Investigators from the Attorney General's Office found indications that the suspects deliberately arranged domestic refinery oil production policies to decrease, thus requiring a large amount of imports.

However, according to the applicable regulations, domestic crude oil supply should be prioritized before conducting imports.

"Nevertheless, the suspects conditioned the outcome of downstream optimization (OH) meetings to lower refinery readiness, which ultimately led to the rejection of domestic contractor crude oil and eventually prompted imports," said the Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center, Harli Siregar, on Monday, February 24, 2025.
