路透渥太华2月26日 - 加拿大监管机构周三表示，将向谷歌收取费用，以收回执行一项法律的成本，该法律要求大型互联网平台为其网站上的新闻内容付费。
在贸易、边境安全以及对美国科技公司征收数字服务税等问题上，目前加拿大与美国的关系正日趋紧张。
加拿大广播电视及通讯委员会$(CRTC)$表示，其绝大部分运营资金来自向其监管的公司收取的费用，在线新闻法的成本回收规则将于 4 月 1 日起生效。收费标准每年可能不同，而且没有上限。
只有 AlphabetGOOGL.O 旗下的谷歌和 Facebook 母公司 Meta META.O 达到了需要向新闻机构付费的公司规模门槛。
谷歌在与政府进行了数月谈判后，同意每年支付 1 亿加元，与出版商达成协议，在搜索结果中保留新闻报道。然而，Meta决定在加拿大屏蔽其 Facebook 和 Instagram 平台上的新闻，以避免支付费用。
除了在 CRTC 咨询期间提交的答复之外，谷歌不予置评。(完)
