中国移动香港(CMHK)宣布即将开通由中国北斗卫星导航系统提供的卫星通信功能“北斗短报文”，3月1日起合资格CMHK月费客户可透过门市申请该服务，毋须更新电话卡或更换号码，成功申请后可于优惠期(今年3月至12月底)内每月于中国内地及香港地区发送30条免费卫星短讯。
届时已申请服务的CMHK香港用户，可在欠缺移动网络或Wi-Fi的情况下，透过HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra及HUAWEI Mate X6等兼容北斗卫星功能的手机，发送最多20个字符讯息予一个香港移动电话号码；又或同一时间最多发送予4个香港移动电话号码，并可同时分享坐标位置，误差范围少于10平方米，5秒内即可送达，适用于野外探险、海上作业、应急救援、遇诈求助等场景。
今年1月初西藏发生6.8级地震，中国移动(00941.HK) 西藏公司免费为日喀则市的19.2万中国移动用户开通以上服务，并连同无人机基站，展开救援和应急通信行动。(gc/u)(港股报价延迟最少十五分钟。沽空资料截至 2025-02-26 12:25。)
