0112 GMT - Woolworths isn't seeing a reduction in terms of customer traffic at its stores, says CEO Amanda Bardwell, when asked how regulatory scrutiny of grocery prices, and Woolworths in particular, is impacting customer behavior. On a call with reporters, Bardwell says customers are seeking value, comparing prices, and choosing to "cross shop" at a greater rate than previously. She says customers are still shopping with Woolworths, but aren't adding as many items to their baskets as before. "We certainly expect to see value seeking behavior from our customers continue into the year ahead," she says, underscoring what will be an ongoing challenge for Australia's big grocery chains.
