路透2月28日 - 据英国《金融时报》$(FT)$周五报道，花旗银行C.N曾误将81万亿美元而非280美元存入一位客户的账户，并花了数小时才将交易撤销，这场"虚惊事故"暴露了该银行一直在努力解决的运营问题。
《金融时报》援引一位内部人士和两位知情人士的话说，去年 4 月发生的这一错误被一位支付业务员工和另一位被派去检查交易的工作人员所忽略，该交易第二天得到处理。
该报称，第三名员工在这笔支付处理一个半小时后发现了错误，几小时后该交易最终被撤销。
报道称，花旗银行没有损失任何钱。该行向美联储和美国通货监理局$(OCC)$披露了这一虚惊事故。
花旗银行告诉《金融时报》，该行的 "检测控制 "及时发现了这一错误，并撤销了输入，还说这一事件对银行或客户没有影响。
根据《金融时报》看到的一份内部报告显示，花旗银行去年发生了十起金额在 10 亿美元或以上的虚惊事故，少于前年的 13 起。
