马斯克下“突袭式”搬迁令：FTC千名员工将腾入USAID空楼
当地时间2月27日，据彭博社报道，知情人士透露，美国联邦贸易委员会（FTC）华盛顿总部员工于本周三接到通知，要求在未来数月内搬离现办公场所，迁入即将腾空的美国国际开发署（USAID）大楼。
这一指令由特朗普政府设立的政府效率部直接下达，该部门由总统特朗普任命、特斯拉CEO埃隆·马斯克领导，主要负责缩减联邦机构规模。
FTC负责反垄断和保护消费者，拥有约1300名雇员，大多数在华盛顿的一栋大楼里办公，该大楼还向其他几个联邦机构出租办公空间。FTC的10年租约已于去年到期，但又延长了三年到2027年。
政府效率部门官网宣称，终止FTC现租约可节省超1100万美元，但未披露具体计算方式。对比数据显示，FTC当前年租金为1360万美元，而该机构2013年搬迁曾耗资7500万美元用于装修及搬迁。成本效益的模糊性引发外界对此次搬迁经济性的质疑。
作为搬迁目的地，美国国际开发署总部自2月起已启动收缩计划。该机构约万名员工中多数被安排无薪休假，数十个国际项目合同遭取消，涉及非洲、乌克兰等地区。本周USAID员工接到通知清理总部个人物品，进一步印证机构规模缩减。
目前，FTC约1300名员工分散于华盛顿两处政府大楼办公，其委员及高管办公室所在总部距USAID大楼仅数个街区。截至发稿，FTC发言人未就搬迁计划置评。
