Sembcorp Industries (SGX:U96) logged a 14% increase in its profit attributable to owners of the company of SG$471 million during the second half of 2024, from SG$412 million a year earlier, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Thursday.
Earnings per share rose to SG$0.2603 from SG$0.2276 in the comparable period. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha projected EPS of SG$0.26 for the period.
Revenue, however, slid 5% year over year to SG$3.21 billion from SG$3.38 billion, due to higher depreciation charge and finance costs of new capacities. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha estimated a revenue of SG$3.67 billion.
The board proposed a final divided of SG$0.17 per share, taking the total dividend to SG$0.23 per share for the year ended Dec. 31, 2024. The dividend will be paid on May 13.
Shares of the engineering company were up over 2% in recent trading.
