MILAN, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Numerous fashion companies are potentially interested in buying Versace, Miuccia Prada, owner of the Italian luxury group Prada 1913.F, said on Thursday.
Capri Holdings CPRI.N is working with Barclays to explore a sale of its Versace brand, sources told Reuters in January.
"It is on everybody's table", Miuccia told journalists seeking comment about Prada's own potential interest in snapping up the smaller Italian rival.
Prada has been given access, ahead of any other potential suitor, to the financial data of Versace, a source close to the matter said last week, adding that the Hong Kong-listed group had been given four weeks to conduct its assessment.
No decision on whether to actually pursue the deal has yet been taken at this stage, the source added at that time.
Italian fashion group Only The Brave $(OTB.UK)$'s founder Renzo Rosso earlier this week told Italian newspaper MF that he was interested in the potential acquisition of Versace.
