DoNews2月28日消息，据外媒报道，在最新的 Skype for Windows 预览版中，出现了这样一条信息：“从 5 月起，Skype 将停止提供服务。请在 Teams 中继续进行通话和聊天。”
此外，该应用还包含了一条备注：“你的一些朋友已经转移到免费的 Teams”。
Skype 于 2003 年推出，2011 年被微软收购。此后，微软关停了包括 MSN 在内的部分即时通讯产品，并在 2015 年将 Skype 与 Windows 10 整合。
2017 年，微软推出了基于 Skype 构建的协作平台 ——Teams，旨在与 Slack 等竞争。从那时起，微软便开始大力推广 Teams。
据报道，Skype 并未达到微软的预期，尤其是在苹果 FaceTime 的成功、微软自家 Windows Phone 的失败、以及谷歌推出自家的通信工具之后。2021 年，Windows 11 发布时集成了 Teams，与 Windows 10 版本 1511 发布时集成了 Skype 的情景类似。
