UK Stocks-Factors to watch on February 25

Feb 25 - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen flat on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.02%.

* HSBC: HSBC 0005.HK, HSBA.L plans to issue an aggregate principal amount of $1.50 billion in perpetual subordinated convertible securities, the lender said in a filing to Hong Kong stock exchange.

* BOE: Bank of England policymakers do not have a consensus about how fast the central bank should cut interest rates, even though they all agreed to use the word "gradual", Monetary Policy Committee member Swati Dhingra said.

* RIO TINTO: London-based hedge fund Palliser Capital urged Rio Tinto RIO.AX, RIO.L to allow the company's Australian shareholders to vote on a resolution that seeks an independent review of its dual-listing status.

* OIL: Oil prices rose for a second day as the U.S. imposed fresh sanctions on Middle Eastern producer Iran.

* GOLD: Gold held steady near a record high.

* METALS: London copper edged lower.

* The UK blue-chip index .FTSE closed flat on Monday following four consecutive days of declines as investors awaited comments from Bank of England policymakers on the interest rate outlook.
