NZX Midday Sector Update: Consumer Non-Durables Soar, Communications Sector Struggles

Consumer staples gained the most on the New Zealand exchange, rising nearly 1% at midday Friday.

A2 Milk (NZE:ATM) rose more than 2% in recent trade and continues to trade at its highest price since April 2021.

On the other hand, communications shares dropped almost 2% after Chorus recently swung to a loss in its fiscal first half.

Chorus (ASX:CNU),(NZE:CNU) shares dropped 1.3% in recent trade to reach its lowest price since August 2024.
