1519 ET - Mediterranean-style chain Cava is still firmly in expansion mode, with new store openings fueling most of its foot traffic growth, which was up 27% year over year in 4Q, Placer.ai data shows. The company, which increased its footprint to nearly 380 locations in 2024, is likely to post another year of sustained growth in 2025 as it continues to expand, the report reads. The company received a larger share of lunch and dinner guests last year compared with the wider fast-casual average, according to Placer.ai. The firm notes that visits outside of typical meal times increased during warmer months, indicating that customers visited the chain for full meals rather than quick bites on the go. Shares are trading 3.3% lower ahead of Cava's scheduled 4Q report, set to be released after Tuesday's bell. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
