HSBC (HKG:0005) bought back a total of 5,827,993 shares in the UK and Hong Kong on Thursday, a Friday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange said.
The British lender repurchased 2,893,993 shares in the UK at a volume weighted average price of 9.1365 pounds sterling apiece and 2,934,000 shares in Hong Kong at an average price of HK$89.1362 each.
Since the start of the buyback program, HSBC has repurchased 26,186,382 shares for around $295.8 million.
