1817 ET - WW International expects to attract subscribers who are seeking to lose weight through lifelong healthy habits rather than through only weight-loss drugs, CEO Tara Comonte says on a call with analysts. The weight management services company is focusing its efforts toward adding consumers who are coming off weight loss medications and embrace their solutions "holistically," Comonte says. "Our clinical business is an important part of how we expect returns and store level growth over the coming years," the executive says, adding that its clinical business has had a strong start to the first quarter. The company will need to make investments to better compete in this environment, though, and has engaged in talks with lenders and bondholders to explore transaction to increase its financial flexibility.
