1527 ET - Consumers are still spending, but they're being careful about how much they spend on each product, Amazon Chief Executive Andrew Jassy told CNBC in an interview. Where customers can find cheaper prices and deals, they do so. Customers are continuing to choose Amazon, which said it had its strongest-yet holiday season, because it can offer those low prices, Jassy said. "What happens in times where consumers are a little bit uneasy about different economic conditions is that they tend to figure out who are they going to buy from. They tend to pick a smaller number of merchants they buy from." (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
