Eiffage posts 3% rise in 2024 operating profit, squeezed by motorway tax

Feb 26 (Reuters) - French construction group and motorway operator Eiffage FOUG.PA reported on Wednesday a 3% rise in 2024 operating profit, which was compressed by a new motorway tax in France.

Eiffage, which runs the 1,883 kilometre Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône (APRR) toll road network across eastern France, said its operating profit for the year was 2.48 billion euros, broadly in line with 2023's 2.4 billion.

Excluding the Tax on the Operation of Long-Distance Transport Infrastructure, operating profit on ordinary activities would have risen by 8.2%, the group said in a statement.
