1705 ET - Monster Beverage posted better-than-expected 4Q revenue, boosted by continued growth in the global energy drink category, which the company sold at a higher price. Results were mixed, though, as adjusted earnings missed Wall Street's expectations. "In the United States, we are seeing a resurgence of growth in the energy drink category in convenience, as well as in all measured channels reported by Nielsen," Co-CEO Hilton Schlosberg said. The gain was offset by the company's alcoholic beverage brands, which notched year-over-year declines. Shares rise 2.8% in after-hours trading. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
