Manchester United is planning to restructure and cut 150 to 200 jobs.

The soccer club said Monday it is taking several measures to improve its finances and efficiency in an effort to return to profitability. Manchester United has logged five consecutive years of loss since 2019.

The job cuts would be in addition to 250 roles that were removed last year. The club didn't give further details about the restructuring beyond the headcount reduction.

"At the end of this process, we will have a more lean, agile and financially sustainable football club," Chief Executive Officer Omar Berrada said.
