National Vision Holdings has hired Christopher Laden as the eye-wear retailer's next chief financial officer, effective March 31.

National Vision on Wednesday said Laden, who most recently served as finance chief of Community Veterinary Partners, succeeds Melissa Rasmussen, who earlier this year announced plans to leave the Duluth, Ga., company for an opportunity in another industry.

National Vision said Rasmussen plans to depart on March 3, adding that Patrick Moore, who currently serves as a special adviser and was previously the company's chief operating officer and chief financial officer, will step in as interim finance chief on March 4 and will assist Laden with the transition.

The company said Laden, 38 years old, will receive an annual base salary of $500,000, a $200,000 signing bonus and an annual bonus with a target of 65% of his base pay.
