Talga Group (ASX:TLG) signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK-based Altilium Clean Technology to secure a sustainable supply of recycled graphite, for its natural graphite anode material Talnode C, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Under the MoU, Altilium will provide up to 16,000 tonnes of recycled graphite over three years, starting in 2026, with an initial 2,000 tonnes available within the year for sample production, the filing said.

Talga is conducting a commercial study, supported by UK's national innovation agency Innovate UK, to produce lithium-ion battery anode products from recycled graphite, the filing added.

The collaboration allows Talga to combine new and recycled graphite feedstocks and enhance the scalability of its anode operation, the company said.

Its shares rose 2% on market close.
