Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google said Wednesday that it has received US Food and Drug Administration clearance for its loss of pulse detection feature, which is available on the Pixel Watch 3.
The feature detects when users have a loss of pulse due to events like cardiac arrest, respiratory failure or overdose, and places a call to emergency services, Google said.
The feature is already available for Pixel Watch 3 users in 14 countries and will be launched in the US at the end of March, the company said.
Google said the smartwatch already has other health features like car crash and fall detection, and irregular heart rhythm notifications.
