AST SpaceMobile shares were 12% higher, at $29.37, after the company said it received a new contract award in support of the U.S. Space Development Agency through a prime contractor, with total expected revenue of $43 million.

The stock is now up 821% in the past 12 months.

The SDA is part of the U.S. Space Force, and works to deliver space-based capabilities to the joint warfighters to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the proliferated warfighter space architecture.

This contract follows successful testing on BlueWalker-3 in orbit under a previous contract announced in February 2024.
