‘See what’s going on up there’: WA premier invites teals to Pilbara

The West Australian premier will ask all re-elected teal independents to tour his state’s mineral-rich Pilbara as he seeks to head off a potential wave of environmental reforms produced by a minority federal government, which resources giants fear could jeopardise future projects.

As WA voters prepare to head to the polls on March 8 in the shadow of a looming federal election, Roger Cook does not believe his political fortunes will become entangled with those of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, whose popularity is flagging.
