Medibank Private Posts Lower Fiscal H1 Earnings, Higher Revenue

Medibank Private (ASX:MPL) reported Thursday that its earnings per diluted share in the fiscal first half fell to AU$0.124, from AU$0.125 per diluted share a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Visible Alpha were expecting an EPS of AU$0.102.

Insurance revenue for the six months ended Dec. 31, 2024, was AU$4.11 billion, up from AU$3.92 billion in the same period last year. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected revenue of AU$4.32 billion.

The health insurance company expects average organic profit growth of at least 15% annually between fiscal year 2024 and fiscal year 2026.

The board declared an interim dividend of AU$0.078 per share, up from the AU$0.072 in the previous reported period, payable on March 26 to shareholders on record as of March 7.
