Jinchuan Group International Resources' (HKG:2362) copper output and sales rose 2.9% and 4.6% year over year to 63,787 tons and 62,280 tons in 2024 from 62,006 tons and 59,516 tons, respectively, a year prior, a Feb. 28 filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.
Cobalt production and sales, on the other hand, fell by 61% and 32% to 855 tons and 1,438 tons, respectively, in 2024 from 2,207 and 2,114 in 2023.
The drop in cobalt output came as the miner temporarily stopped cobalt production from late May to August 2024 to devote more resources to copper cathode production.
