它不仅折射出好莱坞对中国市场的焦虑，更暗合了近年来全球电影产业的权力转移——当中国电影市场以《哪咤之魔童闹海》（以下简称《哪咤2》）160亿票房横扫全球时，好莱坞的“示好”已从文化猎奇转向现实需求。
2025年春节档，中国电影市场以《哪咤2》《唐探1900》等国产片狂揽100亿票房，而好莱坞连续三年缺席这一全球最大票仓的黄金档期。2023年的中国票房榜前十名中没有一部好莱坞影片，票房占比跌至约12%。分析人士认为，好莱坞电影创新乏力、续集和衍生片泛滥，以及中国本土电影的崛起，是导致其在中国市场遇冷的主要原因。
值得一提的是，此前奥斯卡评委南加州大学动画研究与实践项目主任希拉·索菲安曾表示，如果《哪咤2》参评奥斯卡，自己会投票支持。希拉·索菲安在观影后热情称赞《哪咤2》的制作设计、音效和音乐，并表示这部电影在奥斯卡奖参赛作品中将非常有竞争力。
