Tambourah Metals begins eight-hole drilling campaign at Tambourah King gold system

Tambourah Metals (ASX: TMB) has commenced an eight-hole drilling campaign for a total of 1,000 metres at its namesake project in Western Australia, targeting a down-dip continuation of high-grade mineralisation at the Tambourah King lode system.

The company intersected vein-hosted high-grade gold in a maiden diamond drill (DD) hole at the same location in 2024, with best assays of 2.65m at 32.3 grams per tonne gold from 58.35m including 1.05m at 77.4g/t from 59.05m and 2.26m at 7.94g/t gold from 70.65m.

Tambourah expects the current drilling program to take one week to complete, after which it will send samples to Perth for assay.

Shallow drilling

Shallow drilling has intersected the Tambourah King mineralised structure over a strike length of more than 200m, with most holes testing the structure less than 45m below surface.

The results indicated strong potential for the definition of high-grade gold mineralisation with further exploration.

They followed earlier reverse circulation intercepts of 2m at 18g/t gold from 55m, 5m at 6.1g/t gold from 69m, 5m at 2.02g/t gold from 53m and 6m at 2.05g/t gold from 18m.

Historic goldfield

The historic Tambourah goldfield is located 85 kilometres south-west of Marble Bar and comprises a series of shallow workings developed on north-to-south oriented quartz lodes over 3km of strike.

Tambourah’s exploration at the project is aiming to extend areas of known mineralisation along strike and below the historical workings.

This historical work produced 5,445 tonnes of ore for 163.2 kilograms of gold, equating to a 27.35g/t head grade.

Further testing

Tambourah’s drilling to date has been around the Tambourah King and Western Chief lodes, with multiple workings still to be tested.

Tambourah received a $180,000 co-funded drilling grant under the WA government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme in October to conduct DD in areas south of these targets.

The company expects to commence this program following an assessment of results from the eight-hole campaign.
