BYD (SHE:002594, HKG:1211) has raised HK$43.51 billion in gross proceeds from the sale of shares in Hong Kong, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing on Tuesday.

The Chinese electric vehicle and battery maker sold 129.8 million shares at HK$335.20 apiece.

The size of the deal was up from the initially reported 118 million shares. Reuters said the offering is the largest of its kind in Hong Kong in four years.

The issued shares account for 10.57% of BYD's Hong Kong share capital and 4.27% of its entire issued shares following the deal.

BYD will use the proceeds to invest in research and development, expand overseas businesses, supplement its working capital, and for general corporate purposes.
