Domino's Pizza said it was launching its own version of stuffed- crust pizza on Monday, following in the footsteps of rivals Pizza Hut and Papa John's.

Shares climbed 2.2% to $500.50 in premarket trading after the chain said it would begin offering mozzarella-stuffed crust pizza in locations across the U.S.

Similar menu items from Papa John's and Pizza Hut, owned by Yum! Brands, landed on the market years ago. Papa John's launched its own offering the end of 2020, while Pizza Hut introduced stuffed-crust pizza in 1995.

Domino's also unveiled a promotion to commemorate the launch. The company said it would give away $250,000 worth of stuffed-crust pizza through a sweepstakes on its Cheat Receipts website. To be eligible, customers must upload their receipts to show they purchased stuffed crust from a competitor before Monday. Drawings to select the winners will take place on March 10, 17, and 24, the company said.
